The news: Bartlett High School basketball standout Dylan Jones is headed to Texas A&M. The four-star small forward in the class of 2027 announced his commitment on Monday, Oct. 26, live on the CBS Sports College Basketball YouTube channel, during a ceremony at Bartlett High.
Who he is: Jones is a 6-foot-6, 210-pound senior. 247Sports’ composite and the Rivals Industry Rankings (an average of Rivals, ESPN and 247Sports) both rank him the No. 1 player in Tennessee. Nationally, his ranking sits in the 30s to around 40, depending on the service.
Why A&M: He picked the Aggies and coach Bucky McMillan over finalists Ole Miss and Providence. Tennessee, Memphis and Mississippi State were also in the mix. “We chose that school because we felt like we had built the best relationship with the coach and staff,” Jones told 247Sports.
On the court: As a junior, Jones averaged 16.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists a game for a Bartlett team that went 35-4, according to Aggies Wire. On the EYBL circuit this summer with Team Thad, he averaged 17 points and 5.5 rebounds, per On3, and he was named MVP of the Pangos All-American Camp.
What’s next: Jones is Texas A&M’s second commitment in the 2027 class, joining four-star guard Chase Richardson of Friendswood, Texas. First, he has one more season in a Bartlett uniform.
